About

Leave something somewhere, for someone, to be found later.

Hiii is a living map of the real world, with you in it. Leave a note where something happened, wrap one up for the person it's for, paint a wall with friends, and come across what everyone else has left.

What Hiii is

Hiii is a map of the whole world, down to its streets and buildings, that you can write on, draw on, and walk around. Every note lives at the coordinates it belongs to — the bench, the doorway, the corner of a city you keep coming back to — so a memory stays attached to the place that made it instead of scrolling away in a feed.

You are on the map too, as a character of your own, alongside everyone else who is out exploring. Wave to a stranger, stand with a friend on the corner where you first met, or watch a balloon carry your letter across an ocean.

  • Leave a note anywhere

Pin a postcard, a card, or a few words to the exact spot they belong, with photos, songs, and keepsakes tucked inside.

  • Send it as a gift

Wrap it for one person, seal it until a date or a place, or let a pigeon, a balloon, or a snail carry it across the map.

  • Walk the world together

Explore as your own character, meet your friends out on the map, talk with your Circle, or go for a ride.

  • Draw on the walls

Paint pixel art onto real buildings, on your own or with anyone who joins in.

  • Collect the world

Stamp your passport for every country you've been to, and plant a flag on the Moon, Mars, or even Neptune.

Why we made it

Most of what we write to each other now is designed to be forgotten. Messages vanish upward, photos pile into an album nobody opens, and the small things — what a street smelled like, what someone said on a walk home — go unrecorded because there was never a good place to put them.

A place is a better filing system than a date. You do not remember the eleventh of a month; you remember there. Pinning a note to a real spot means it finds you again when you are standing in it, or when someone you love goes looking.

We wanted somewhere to leave the small things, exactly where they happened.

And places are better with people in them. Online, you can reach anyone and still feel like you are nowhere in particular. On Hiii you can see who else is out there, stand beside a friend who lives on the other side of the world, and make something on a wall that you will both walk past again.

How it works

  1. Open the map and find the place a memory belongs to.
  2. Write a note — a postcard, a greeting card, a flat card, or a sticky note — and arrange its words, pictures, and art however you like. Add a song, a voice memo, or a keepsake to go with it.
  3. Leave it public for anyone who wanders past, or wrap it up for one person to open straight away, on a day you choose, when they reach a place, or when its carrier finally lands.

Or press Draw and paint on the buildings around you, one pixel at a time. Press your own character to wave, dance, or take a ride, and go and see who else is out exploring.
